Crying is a release valve. Hormones and adrenaline rage when we have a good cry and it releases a lot of pent up feelings and emotions. When we are done our hormones and adrenaline return to more normal levels so we feel tired but better that's why it is always better to let it out.

To cry is a body's own way to relieve built up stress and tension and other feelings as well. Sadly, many men don't do this because they were taught not too. Many decades ago, people thought it would be best to let women cry and men not too because other men thought it was a form of weakness for a man to cry. This couldn't be further from the truth. God gave all of us the ability to cry. That's why he made emotions and tear ducts and tears. To cry it enables all of us to get out all the pent up emotions we had in our bodies and naturally we feel much better to let it all out. By having all those pent up feelings does nothing but harm us in the long run and makes matters worse.

I don't view a man that cries a wimp or weak at all. I view him as a human being that needs to release his anxieties and grief and tension. I suggest you do the same. Welcome to the human race!

Good luck to you and I hope I was some what helpful!

For me, crying allows me to release whatever emotion threatens to overwhelm my body at that particular moment: tension, fear, tenderness, surprise, love, etc.

I think we feel better because it is cathartic and allows the body and mind to find some healing, albeit sometimes momentary. Here is a great article on the subject of crying. It's a few pages long, but well worth it.

It actually cleans your system from toxins and waste! Emotional tears are 30 x's richer in manganese than blood. Supressing tears is a gentle release for body and mind... and some people actually look better after a gentle weeping....just let it out, it's our bodys natural pressure valve...

I'm thinking crying also releases endorphins, which are a natural body painkiller.

because it is a release mechanism and it is better to do so than to hold it in. This is why men need to do more of it
