Almost any dog, gets extremely attached to the person they are around the most. Chihuahua's are no different, in that respect, than any other dog. Many Chihuahua owners, tend to carry there dog around with them, like a handbag. This practice, makes Chihuahua's, look more like an accessory, than a pet. The Chihuahua is all dog, however, they love to play, have fun and have lots of attention payed to them.

Smaller breeds have a tendency to do this because they are picked up and carried everywhere. They see the world from a higher view when they are carried about and when they are put down to walk on their own they have the attitude like they are big and tough and act that way.
In conclusion and animal will be very attached to the person who gives them the most attention and affection.
How wonderful for you!
