Genetics plays an important role on growth and development of an individual. Other factors are nutrition, stress, hormone secretion, and environment.
If you are under 20 years of age, go to radiologist and check if your bone epiphyseal end plate (of your long bones) is still open through bone scan. If happens your epiphyseal end plate is close, then you dont have a chance to grow taller than 5'8".
On the other hand if it is stiil open, look for an Endocrinologist or Medical Internist. Hormonal therapy (GH or Growth Hormone) can help you increase your height further.
If you are female... Increase estrogen hormone can prematurely close your epiphyseal end plate. That's the reason why (but not always) men grow talller than females.
In some studies, sleeping during 1pm to 4pm triggers high secretion of Growth Hormones in Pituitary gland.
Animal research shows that stress and starvation causes increase secretion of growth hormones leading to increase of length of the control subject animal. (increase in length only...weight is not classified).
Vitamin B Complex can also help.
Surgery is not an option! Have you seen the movie GATTACA 1997 of Ethan hawke and Uma Thurman? Ethan Hawke tried to increase his height through surgical operation. (nice concept but not possible in reality)
i hope this one is helpful to you!
Good Luck!

Genetics. You will have the genes of your parents. Exercise is the best way to increase your height. If you lifted weights before puberty, don't expect to get too much taller. Lifting weights before puberty stops growth in the bones because you were at a young age.
Another solution is stretching. It loosens your joints and stuff, therefore stretching them out, making you taller.
These solutions don't work for everyone.

If you have not completed puberty, there is still hope. Human Growth Hormone (HGH) can be administered, and you will grow. However, be wary: should you ingest HGH after puberty, your bones will expand and ossify (become hard), but your body will not change. You will suffer severe joint pain as well as the possibility of grotesque facial features, should your facial bones expand. Your DNA codes for things like how tall you are, and I would advise you to let it do the particulars for you.

It depends how old you are because the growth plate in your long bones may start to close up as soon as we hit our late teens. Genetics play a lot in determining our potential height.

Wow. I'm 5 foot 8 too! How old are you, though? Cause I'm 14.
Increase your height by wearing tall shoes.

It depends on your body's development. If you never have a sudden-growing or something like that. I think you might grow more. However, it all depents on your body.

Just deal with it, if you are 20+ years of age, you won't grow any more. There is not you can do. Just deal with it. Be happy with who you are.
