I think there is something in it's brain that triggers anger, makes some sort of chemical imbalance that makes the bull attracted to the color...but I'm not sure.

Bulls are actually colorblind. To a bull's eye, a red cape is a gray cape.
However, to a bull bred exclusively for aggressiveness, that flapping cape can prove very irritating.
It's also worth pointing out that the animal in question has already been stabbed several times at the base of the neck. This happens early in the bullfight, and is performed by a gentleman known as a "picador."
So basically...the color of the cape is just tradition, but the flapping of the cape is what ticks the bull off!

Believe it or not, bulls are color-blind. They mostly chase something that is waving in front of them or whomever/whatever looks directly in it's eyes. But some people do not know that, so they assume the bull will run towards something red that is waving in front of them.

It actually has nothing to do with the cape being red... bulls are color blind! All the bull sees is a gray cloth being swung around. Red is used to be flashy and colorful... it also hides the blood from the fight!

Not true. It's the waving of the cape (the movement) that pisses off the bull, not the color. The bulls are color-blind. The cape is called a "capote" and usually is yellow on the inside.

It's not so much the color red, as the waving of the cloth that agitates bulls. However, this has already been stated, so I've nothing real to add...

actually they proved that it isnt the red color that enrages the bull. it is the manner in which the cloth is waved. bulls see this waving as teasing so by instinct they start chasing the one hold the cloth.

Well for starters, a bull doesn't like the color red...they hate it. They seem to think that it is a threat and want to kill it....so they charge anything that is red.
