I don't think becoming more spiritual is something that we do but rather the more we submit to the Lord the more He works in us and through us. Stay in the Word of God continually.
We are commanded to grow in the grace and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I would say get yourself a book on spirituality (found in the new age section of book stores) or a book on religions). There are many practices that you can do to lead a calmer life. If you are on a spiritual quest, then I'd say that it is a good idea to look into all the different religions and question each and every one.
For example:
"Is this one right for me?"
"Is this what I'm looking for?"
"Will this religion ultimately make me happy?"
"Can I live an accomplished life?"
And don't listen to the guff that other people will tell you. Do what YOU want to do.

I wholeheartedly agree with what both sunnyJay and meluusinee
have said. Read those answers carefully. They are on a true spiritual path.
But forget all those "answers in a box" religions that are out there that "tell" you what to believe rather than allowing you to explore and discover within yourself those spiritual truths. There are a lot of answers here that are just pat answers, essentially saying "join my church and you'll be more spiritual". That's just not going to get anyone further spiritually, just a dead end street.
Good luck on your quest and keep posting good questions.

I am speaking from my own experience here, but I believe the path to a more spiritually rich life lies in what brings you joy. "God" or whatever label you put on it speaks to us in many ways. We just need to be able to become aware of it. In order to become aware of what, and how "God" is speaking, we have to find out who we really are. We have to stop judging ourselves, embrace who we are, and begin to do those things that serve our highest good. I have found when I started to do this, the world opened up for me. I think most have been taught that embrace and loving who you are is a bad thing. I believe it can only bring you happiness and joy, which you can share with others. Some will say find "Christ" or meditate. I think the fact that you are asking questions is a remarkable part of the journey. Who knows where you will end on your path? Your possiblities are endless as are you. Find that which feeds your spirit, find that which brings you joy. Those are things that will help your spiritual life grow richly. Good luck to you on your journey.

It is an 'inside job'. Regardless of all of Humankind's best efforts, what 'church', faith, or discipline you ascribe to, a personal, spiritual connection is just that, PERSONAL.
It helps me to expand my awareness, truly be 'in the moment', focus solely on my breath. I trust that the 'Infinite' is just fine, and feels the same about me, so I can relinquish all the 'chatter' of what to do about this & that.
Hold yourself, all existence, and spirit in 'unconditional, positive regard, (a definition of Love).
The answer to "How to..." , and what consists of "MORE spiritual" is really a trap, that brings only answers relating to the Physical World. What is the same in all our searching makes the difference.
"As you believe, so it is done unto you"
"Greater things shall ye also do"
It can be a most awesome adventure! ~ Bon Chance!

Learn to meditate.
Buy a tape or CD that instructs. Listen to it around bedtime when your subconscience begins to rule the mind.
Your inner spiritual self will eventually surface.

According to Ken Wilber, the main purpose of all spiritual paths is to show us how futile is the idea that we can spiritually progress by our own efforts.

I don't think you need to search for spirituality I believe it will only come when we quite our minds and are open to it in any form

You do not have to be a Christian. Just find your own connectedness with the universe or whatever in the way that it calls to you. Doesn't necessarily have to be within an organized religion, unless you want it to be.

You did not say so if you are not a Christian you must first ask Christ into your heart. Then ask the Holy Spirit to led and guide you though your everyday life
