What would Jesus do if we taught him about evolution and showed him the evidence?

It always amazes me how bilical literalists are so quick to claim (falsely) that there is no evidence for evolution, yet conveniently neglect to mention that there is NO evidence for the literal creation account taken from Genesis.

All creationist arguments boil down to either...
Appeal to Ignorance (You don't know, therefore my theory is correct),
Appeal to Incredulity (I can't imagine how the Archer Fish could have evolved, therefore they must have just magically appeared out of nothing).
Appeal to Authority-This is often lead into by quote mining. Usually these quotes are from evolutionists, but the text is handpicked by creationists to give the reader the impression that a leading academic is doubting his own work. Sometimes, the quote is from a creation "scientist" whose seeming academic acheivement makes his or her judgment trustworthy. In any case, it is still a fallacy because scientists do not accept evolution just because Darwin, or anybody else, says so. They simply agree that the theory best explains the evidence.

Half truths-Scientists do have an explanation for how the archer fish developed its "firing apparatus." Even if they didn't, it wouldn't be proof of literal creation. Many fish have mouths, roofs of mouths, movable tongues, and binocular vision. The oldest fossilized fish had no jaw. When creationists discover the fossil of an archer fish, buried unintrusively in the same age of gelological strata, then maybe they'll have evidence.

and OUTRIGHT LIES! Darwin never recanted on his death bed.

Jesus wouldn't need to have anything explained to Him. He is God in the Flesh, and as such, He would know all that The Creator knows, including the evidence for evolution and whether or not it was correctly interpreted.

His response would be the same, whether it was a creationist, a theistic evolutionist (like myself), or an atheist...

OMG this place is full of uneducated people with no scientific background... There is tons of evidence to support that evolution is not only a theory but fact, any educated person would know that it is no longer considered a theory. Evolution theory means mechanisms within micro or macro evolution such as natural selection. As for the question who knows what he would do, probably be stubborn and make up lies like Xians do to hide from the evidence and not accept that evolution is a SCIENTIFIC FACT. If you don't know this then I recommend you do some research and careful there is a lot of misconceptions and misinformation out there especially on the web. But if your not too stubborn and intelligent enough to do the research I'm sure you'll agree with scientists. That people still call it a theory instead of fact shows they are ignorant of micro and macro evolution which has both been observed now. Now on Jesus he might look at it and agree that it's a fact instead of denying the evidence like an intelligent rational human being that can actually use logic to base his beliefs on instead of faith and emotion. Hard to tell since I haven't met him and not sure if he wasn't a fictional character. I would also like to say that I've read Origin of Species and Decent of Man and well that was a LONG time ago, science has progressed a lot since then acquiring LOTS of information in various fields of science. And I suggest that all the uneducated people posting here actually open up a book and learn about micro and macro evolution if they're not too ignorant and/or stubborn to do so. Macro evolution was observed in a bird and in a fish like a year ago making this a rather stupid debate these days.

In Asia, Africa and Australia lives a remarkable creature the archerfish that shoots down its prey from the air above it with a burst of water. It uses its tongue and the top of its mouth to form a groove simiilar to a gun barrel. Then by compressing its gills it squirts water up to six feet with deadly accuracy -- in spite of the distortion caused by seeing the target from below the surface of water.
Evolutionists still don't know how the archerfish got its amazing abilities.They can only wonder. Viewid through the distortion of evolution they cannot explain how the archerfish gradually learned to not aim where its eyes see but to aim instead at a different spot where the target actually is.
Without its binocular vision it couldnot see the object with such precision and without the special shape of the upper mouth and a specialized tongue it could not make the groove it needs to shoot lthe concentrated jet of water. Many factors have to appear together and be perfectly formed for this shooting mechanism to work. This of course goes totally against Charles Darwin's evolutionary theory which is based on a gradual step by step process.
Darwin wrote in (The Origin of Species)-- "If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous successive slight modifications my theory would absolutely break down"(1859, p. 171).
The archerfish offers precisely such an example since several complex systems must all appear at the same time perfectly and not gradually formed--binocular vision,a specialized mouth and tongue, specialized gills to compress and expel water and an aiming system based in the brain and not in the eyes. If any of these parts is missing the mechanism will not hit the target and no survival advantage is created.
When you get down to the facts the archerfish with one squirt of its gills shoots down Charles Darwin's entire theory of evolution and that by Darwin's own admission!!!
So evolution doesn't have the answer to this mystery. But the Bible does. Genesis 1:20-21 says that God created all the creatures that live in the water. He created a great variety of perfectly formed fish including the archerfish with all its special features such as binocular vision other specialized organs and a built in ability to compenste for the distortion of the water.

Yes there is evidence for evolution.
Yes evolution is a theory and so is gravity. Both have quite a bit of evidence.
Irreducible complexity is poor(not to mention lazy) scientific reasoning. Just because we can't think of a way to make it less complex right now doesn't mean we won't figure it out later.

What would we show Jesus that He didn't create? Let me share a little story with you. This is more of a parable.
This scientist came up to God and said, "Well, we don't need you anymore. There is nothing that you can do that we can't do now. Anything and everything that you have done we can now duplicate. We can clone life, fly, prolong life..." and the list went on, while God listened patiently. When the scientist was finished, God said, "Okay. I'll tell you what I'll do. You and I will make an apple pie from scratch. If yours is as good as mine, then I will leave humans alone and let them be. Agreed?" "Yessirree, Bob", said the scientist. God went first, and immediately produced an apple pie from the words of his mouth. "Very impressive,"said the scientist, "but now it's my turn. First, I'll need some apples."

First off don't confuse God with Jesus. God was the creator of the universe, Jesus was his son. As the bible states God created man in the image of himself. Do you know what God looks like? If so please point him out to me. For all we know God could be a single celled amoeba. That evolved into the humans that we are today.

For some odd reason the Darwinists out there seem to not think outside the human form. Not everyone is that stupid. The Bible is a short time line mainly of Jesus's life.

I'll never understand why religious people need evolution debunked in order justify their faith. Isn't the whole point of Faith to believe in something even if evidence to the contrary exists? Isn't it possible to be a devout Christian, yet believe in evolution especially since evidence does exist? (If you'd open your mind and look, instead of dismissing it offhand.) I think it is possible. I have a friend who is a devout Catholic, and yet is an awesome biologist.
