How should I react?

Question

My girlfriend seems to find it necessary to let me know when she thinks another guy is hot. If there's someone on television who she thinks is hot, she makes sure to tell me. Now I'm not sure how to react to this. I'm not going to deny that I'm a little insecure when it comes to the way I look, but I don't need to know about every man she finds attractive. I never mention to her any woman I find attractive, because I want her to feel like she's the most attractive woman in my life. I just told her what I thought about her doing this, and she got pissed, called me a jackass and told me she didn't want to talk to me right now.

I'd like to add that I have no problem whatsoever with her being attracted to other people. It's natural and I understand that. My problem is with her feeling she has to let me know every single time she sees someone "hot". And if it's some kind of test, well it's the longest test I've ever taken as she's been doing this for a while. I just finally brought it to her attention.

That doesn't sound like any relationship I would want to be involved with especially considering her reaction to how you feel. Hopefully she will simmer downa nd you two can talk about this and she will be able to rationally see shere and why you feel the way that you do. Good luck to you...

I'm thinking that maybe you came at her in way that was less than civil to tell her how you feel which is why she got upset. Even if that is the case, she should have been a bit more understanding. If you came at her in a way that was respectful enough to have a conversation about it and she still reacted that way, this chick has to go. She's too selfish to care how you feel or doing what she does is just a part of her that won't change and even if she doesn't want to make you feel the way she does, she is still gonna do it. And you're still gonna be bothered by it.

She's just feeling like she did something wrong but doesn't want to admit it. Wait a while before you talk abt it again. I think you have a very good point, because it can make the other person feel insecure. I always try not to say that sort of thing either. I think the fact that she tells you straight out means that she doesn't think you have anything to worry about with her. But it's not wrong to not want to hear it all the time.

She sounds very immature doing that, I wouldn't do that to my husband ever! That would not only hurt his feelings , but make me like I was some kind chick panting after every good looking guy in with a nice face or butt. I mean get real. You should talk to her about this and if she don't quit hey what's good for the goose is good for the gander. lol

have u ever thought that she may be doing this to see if u'll get jealous or no ? it might be the reason . anyway , u seem to love her so u can just try to explain to her that u love her so much and it annoys u talking about other guys coz she 's the joy of ur life and make sure to let her know how perfect she is in ur eyes in every thing she does , i'm sure she'll understand coz as girls , it turns us onto figure out how much the guy cares and gets jealous , it's a sort of evidence that he really wants us in his life , u know ... and believe me , by knowing how much it makes u upset she'll try to stop it just to be more and more perfect in ur eyes .. if she didn't , then she is unworthy and u deserve much much better but don't worry ,she will ...

Actually there is nothing wrong with it ......normal n healthy! I still find other species of d opposite sex attractive o good looking etc but tht does not mean " I m in love with them , interested in them ..... its just a comment . I m sure u still find other women attractive 2 !

You know what? Your better off with her not speaking to you if she has nothing better to say. She is cutting you down and some times reaction is better then you not saying anything about it when she does. Not in a jealous way ,because she would thrive on that. If shes going to call you names when you try to talk about it , it confirms that she is degrading in how she talks to you . One would almost say abuses you..
Beauty is on the inside as well...shes not looking to hot . You need to get yourself esteem up about yourself, you don't need someone to lower it further.

i completely agree with you, my boyfriend rarely points out other women to me and when he does, i get that little jealous twinge. i totally want to feel like the most attractive woman in his life, it's only natural. you're totally in the right here, i guess it's not a big deal with celebrities and such, but if you've made it clear that it gets to you and she continues to do it, pull some rank and show her whats up.

first of all, how old is she? second of all, she's probably trying to make you jealous. Don't worry about the guys on tv...they're "not real". Her relationship is with you...

Now if she's doing the same out in public with you, then you need to tell her that it upsets you. If she loves you, she'll respect you and stop.
