With a Cocktail: Veggie or Fruit?

Gimlet (onion) and Bloody Mary (celery) are the only veggie coctails I can come up with. Other than that, I gotta say fruit

Depends on the liquor. Something sweet, like vodka, usually gets a fruit, hence the huge popularity of absolut citron, bacardi raz, O, etc. Stiffer liquors, like gin or whiskey base tend to get fruit as well. There really is no hard and fast rule- except whisky-real whisky, none of that jack daniels crap- has no garnish but ice. Just keep in mind, garnishes are most often only asthetic. That said, here are the basics:

-Anything with soda gets a lemon
-Anything with tonic gets a lime
-Martinis get two olives
-Bloody Mary's get celery or pickles with an olive and
- A really good margarita should get an orange peel, to accentuate the Cointreau.

Depends on the cocktail. Bloody Mary's are usually served with celery, carrot or dill pickle. Your sweet drinks like Margarita's, daquiris, etc. are usually served with fruit.

cocktails have alcohol so this converts into sugar you dont want to overload sugar here so try veggies and cheese.. but for a garnish on the cocktail pineapple or lemon or lime

serve fruit with tropical drinks and veggies for your other drinks
and match fruit accordingly. Like a strawberry daquri seve strawberries. Lemon Lime dacquri serve lemons or limes ect...

if it's a strawberry margarita, serve strawberries. Pina colada, serve pineapple, some people like a shrimp cocktail, dill pickle, or celery with their caesars. It all depends on the cocktail..I like marachino cherries with my black russians...I like potato chips with beer...
