There is also something called PCOS. PCOS stands for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome in which sometimes obese people can get, especially when they are young unless they were born weighing more pounds than normal babies would. This can also lower the rate for getting pregnant and not knowing when you're pregnant. If you are pregnant, a C-section may be place instead of a regular vaginal delivery. I got this information from watching the Discovery Health Channel when this woman was pregnant but didn't know it and found out she had PCOS. That could be very helpful for someone to know if they didn't so that they wouldn't be wondering why certain things were taking place in their body.

young women are often very irregular. Both my daughters still have unpredictable cycles and they are 17 and 19.
Stress can wipe you out. And not eating enough. Plus thyroid problems.
If you're more than 2 weeks late and have taken a pregancy test (provided you had sex..otherwise don't take the test) check with your doctor.

There are all kinds of reasons. Usually, the most common reason is stress. Or you body might have decided to shift gears. Meaning your cycle is just changing. Instead of starting on the 13th, it will begin on the 1st.

Stress, anxiety, depression, illness, poor nutrition, and/or change in climate (surprisingly). I recall when my period was 2 weeks late due to stress from a major earthquake.
