I'm not currently dating, and would like to see some new movies, but I've always been apprehensive of going alone. I know, I shouldn't care what other people think... But I do.. And I don't think seeing a movie alone would be any fun? Any lone movie goers out there want to share?

I go to the movies alone all the time, it's a good way to get to know yourself a little bit more and my husband doesn't seem to mind.

lol, I remember those days as well.
You know, I went to hundreds of movies by myself. If you go in there, get a ticket, some popcorn and sit down - once the movie starts you forget you're alone. It feels like watching a movie in your livingroom.
After the first couple of times it really didn't bother me at all anymore. I made it something I did on afternoons I didn't work.
Just make sure not to go too late at night! (creepy men come out of the woodwork!)

Hold your chin up. Trust me, no one cares if you're alone or with a million friends. As soon as they go home, they'll never think about you again anyway! I never cared when other people went alone and I still don't care when I see loners now that I go with my bf to the movies.

Go! It's fun!

When my wife and I were seperated I went to the movies alone. I felt a little weird about at first, but realized there were other people there by themselves as well. And then I remembered that I used to go alone in high school once in awhile. My wife and I are back together, but if I want to see a movie she doesn't want to see, I'll still go by myself. It's not so bad and you don't have someone trying to talk to you the whole time your trying to watch the movie!

It's ok to go to the movies by yourself. No two people ever always likes to see the same movie all the time. every once in awhile it's good to go by yourself. Get some alone time and I go by myself and also with my boy (22 years old) and almost never with my old lady. She and I never like the same kinds of movies. Never likes the same kinds of resturants. And I like a drink every now and then, she doesn't. I wonder why I'm still married. But anyhow It doesn't bother me one bit. So go enjoy yourself watch a movie and get a drink or go for some coffee. Jerry :-)

I personally haven't gone alone to a movie, but my husband has and don't feel so bad because once he went to see the same movie 4 times by himself each time. Now that's something to laugh at and I do all the time. Hee hee. Go on to that movie and buy yourself a big tub of popcorn and some Goobers too! Have fun and ya never know who ya might see watching it alone to, wink wink nudge nudge know what I mean.........

I do not like going out (to bars or clubs or any social gathering) alone either. I am getting over it. What you have to keep in mind is that you have to do what you want to do and what is best for you regardless of who is in your corner. Go see the movie and if someone stares, stare back. If no one talks to you and you feel alone, remeber, in the end you will always live with youself. You are excellent company. Hope this helps.

I have been to the movies alone several times. It not a problem for me. My freinds or family are working or something. That is my. "me" time. Me and my bf would you to different movies, b/c we didn't want to see the same movie. Who cares what people think! If you're ok, then go it alone.

Its a thrilling, exciting, self-empowering feeling to go alone. It improves your self image to know you'll be OK alone, you can pig out on buttered popcorn, sit and watch people on dates and be glad you're not in that nerve-racking position. It's good training to be comfortable with yourself. Put your feet up! PS-if you really want to have fun, go alone at the late show, see a scary movie, sit close. Usually no one else is in the theatre, very scary!

I go to the movies alone a lot, it is no big deal. People don't think anything of it. You can see lots of good movies of YOUR choice, even if your spouse or friends prefer different types, or you just want to go yourself. Once you go the first time, you'll see: it's fun!

I went to a movie alone once, I'm never going to do it again. I like to have someone to talk to after the movie about what i saw. People who go alone though, I have respect for them. They are obviously independent enough to be able to do that. Always having to go to the movies with someone makes it so much harder to go. How many movies have i not seen due to the fact that no one would, or could go with me? it's been quite a few. Just try it once. it won't hurt you. You might enjoy it.
