I need a recipe for deep fried cheese curds. The breaded ones, not battered, please. Any info would help. I have a basic recipe, I just need to know what to use to make the dry ingredients stick to the cheese. Thanks!

Breaded Cheese Curds

Fried cheese curds are my favorite fair food. I prefer beer battered ones (see the recipe in the article below). I'm from Wisconsin, so I KNOW cheese curds. One hint to keep things sticking properly - make sure the curds are at room temperature before dipping.

I searched, but I couldn't find a single recipe for BREADED deep fried cheese curds. You can buy frozen ones, but they're underwhelming. Give the fresh beer battered ones a try and see if they change your mind.

By the way, the fresher they are, the better. If you live near a cheese factory and you can get them when they're still warm, these are the best. They're so fresh they squeak loud enough for others to hear them when you're eating! If you have to have them shipped to you, pay extra for next day delivery. They'll have to be refrigerated/cooled for transport, so they won't be quite as squeaky, but they're still good.
