How to boil an egg:
Put eggs in a roomy pan for the number you are cooking
Cover with cold water and a 1/4 cup (big splash) of any kind of vinegar
Bring to a boil
Remove from heat
Cover with tight lid
Let sit for 10 to 15 minutes
Put the uncovered pan with eggs still in it under the faucet add cold running water until you can
comfortably touch the eggs
crack the shells and use a tablespoon to slip under the skin and peel under cold running water.
That's how you do it!

Drop the eggs into a bowl with ice on it. Let them in there for a few minutes. Take the eggs out and beat the whole shell slightly with a wooden spoon, once you get the whole shell cracked it is just plain sailing. The shell comes off very easily and the end result is a perfect peeled boiled egg. Good luck!

My mom would say add salt to the water before boiling. My trick is to crack the egg after boiling and run cold water over them. The shell just comes right off when you peel it.

Cook them 20 minutes. Take them off the heat. Drain the hot water off them. Run cold water over them and while they are still luke warm peel them. The shell will peel right off and want harm the white.

I understand exactly what you mean. I think it has something to do with the age of the egg. You can't do anything about it, just cook more eggs than you need and peel away!

not sure if salting the water will work, but try these two things:
use recently purchased eggs and instead of just running under cold water, add the drained hot eggs to a bowl containing water and ice.
should work, also it makes them whiter.
