I have always had basic local cable - but i have noticed that the rate is by far cheaper with Directv..For those of you that have or had it let me know of you experiences,reccommendations etc..

I had directtv and it is way better than cable, you get more channels and even some channels that u have to pay for with cable. the only con to it is if u live in an area that has a lot of bad storms, during a thunderstorm in alabama the satelite would go out for awhile and u couldnt watch tv.

When it rains your signal goes out. I had the dish and got rid of it for regular cable.

The only con is that you need a box for every TV you hook up
