If it is an open wound then you can put Neosporin on it. If you are looking for something to keept the flies off of your puppy then talk to your vet, or go to your local pet store. Both offer sprays and lotions that will deter the flies.

try wet tobacco on bite, and cover so he or she cant lick it off.
also, pets are not like us, but if yours will leave bandages on,
cut a wide piece of raw potato , put on bite, and bandage.
leave on all day if you are at home, or at night till you go to bed.
raw potato pulls out any infections on bite or cuts, etc.
these are old country remidiesbut they work.
works on humans and pets.
