I've taken a packet of paracetamol and two packets of ibuprofen. Is that enough to kill me? And how long will it take?

Yes, I want to die because there's nothing worth living for anymore. Everyone will be better off without me, my family don't care about me anyway, I've lived by myself for 6 years and they're hardly ever in touch with me.

I'm not very young and I'm not looking for attention. I just wanted to know whether I'd taken enough to kill myself or not.

Yes, I'm serious. Why would I lie about something like this? I don't want to go to hospital because I want to die. I don't want them to save my life.

Alicia listen to me. You have to go to the hospital right now. You are not thinking straight at the minute, I know because I've been there myself.

PLEASE, go to the hospital. You need some treatment so that the paracetamol doesn't damage your liver, and then they will get someone to talk to you and arrange some help for you to get through this. You CAN get through this depression, I promise, even though it seems impossible. I'll help you. You've got my e-mail address. Please just go to the hospital now.

I dont know if this is attention seeking from someone very young but if you're serious then call emergency. If you really were serious about this why would you bother with yahoo answers unless it's for the attention. Either way you need to talk to someone about your problems.

Sweetheart I've read your comments. I still believe you really dont want to die. Is it a means of punishing those you feel dont care, to make them feel guilty? Be honest. Dead is dead. It's not a long sleep from which you wake up, it's the big final no coming back cold end. The vast majority of those who survived a suicide attempt changed their minds and are grateful they failed. You need to speak to someone or be befriended by someone you can trust who wont judge you. If you're in the UK call the Samaritans. They WILL help they will listen and it's 24 hrs.

Not a chance of it killing you unless you keep at it with the same doses for a month or two.

Why would you want to go a slow ugly death anyway?

I am a loner myself. I like it when I can get away from people. One thing I learned is if you want to be a loner they will let you. You have to go see them because everyone has a life and is busy. What you need to do is create a life of your own. Build a family of your own if that is what you want. I got me a couple of birds that really loves me and loves to play and I could not stand the thought of leaveing them alone to greave and miss me. Who knows some might miss treat them if I am not around to take care of them. Well my girlfreind loves me too and I would hate for her to feel bad because I did my self in. Think about that for a little while. How hurt do you think people will be because you are gone? Do you have any pets.. How sad they will be waiting for you to come home and you never do.

I bet you only think you are alone.

You know what I like to do is get on here and start answering questions because it makes me feel good when I have the best answer. But you really need to find someone to pester you. You don't need anyone to talk to about how bad things are for you because they really are not bad at all if you just think about it.

But for reall those drugs won't do what you want them to so stop torchering your self. Go to walmart with a white shoe polish marker and make smilie faces on peoples windows and watch them when they come out and see the happy face.. kinda funny. they smile and just look at it. Just don't get caught. You might even get in the local paper for the mad smilie face drawer or something.

I"m saying things are not bad at all so go have some fun messing with people.

Enjoy.

Paracetamol is horrible horrible stuff and even if you took a lethal dose (unlikely) it would still take days or weeks of total agony and throwing up to die. Forget all about paracetamol, go to hospital, get treated and ask to speak to the duty psychiatric doctor. I have done this myself - I guarantee they will help you realise you don't want to die, you just want to stop feeling crap and can't see a way for that to happen.

no it wont kill you but go admit yourself to the nerest hospital and get some help for those issues you got like the attention issues you got. Dont call ems just have family drive you there. If you really wanted to kill yourself you would not be on here asking dumbass questions. With all the dying people in the world. Get a life........

PARACETAMOL

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: isoniazid, phenobarbital, phenytoin, zidovudine, sulfinpyrazone.

Acetaminophen is an ingredient in many over-the-counter products and in some combination prescription medications. Read the labels carefully before taking other pain relievers or cold products to see if they also contain acetaminophen. Consult your pharmacist if you are uncertain if your other prescription or over-the-counter products contain acetaminophen.

If you do not have liver problems, the adult maximum dose of acetaminophen is 4 grams per day (4000 milligrams). If you take more than the maximum daily amount, it may cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of the following symptoms of liver damage: severe nausea, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, stomach pain, extreme fatigue.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Acetaminophen may cause liver damage. Daily use of alcohol, especially when combined with acetaminophen, may increase your risk for liver damage. Check with your doctor or pharmacist for more information. Acetaminophen is often used instead of aspirin. They are equally effective in relieving pain; however, acetaminophen does not reduce swelling and inflammation like aspirin does.

There are many brands and forms of acetaminophen on the market. Read the dosing instructions carefully as the amount of acetaminophen may vary among products.

Acetaminophen appears to be safe for use during pregnancy. Use only if clearly needed.

Acetaminophen is found in breast milk, but side effects in nursing infants have not been reported. Consult you doctor if you are breast-feeding.

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US national poison hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canadian residents should call their local poison control center directly. Symptoms of overdose may include severe nausea, vomiting, excessive sweating, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, stomach pain, and extreme fatigue.

NOTES:
Acetaminophen does not cause the stomach and intestinal ulcers that aspirin and aspirin-like NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, ketoprofen) may cause.

MISSED DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom. Do not freeze liquid forms.

Damn... Sorry but this is the truth

UPDATE]

If you want to die... go to hospital, get the antidote, then get home and own lots of barbituate class sleeping pills and alcohol.

That way you fall asleep perminantly (try everclear or absinthe)

Get the parcetamol out of your system as it is going to hurt you soooooo much girl please.

Or at least get painkillers so you don't suffer so much. or a gun.

but not like this, please

Its going to take possibly a few days and you are going to be in absolute agony, as organs collapse and if you have taken enough and its been long enough the docs may not be able to do much...

Studied up on drugs...

They need to get it out fast if you are to live if not pump you full of pain killers till you die and said it will take a long time

You should have used sleeping pills and alcohol or used a gun.

Get to hospital if you are lucky they can extract them or if they can't make your death hurt less.

Try and get loved ones to keep you company.

Sorry I can't be nice but thats reality mate

Are you trying to kill yourself? Hun...if you've already taken them and now you are here on yahoo doing your research, then I would hope that that amount doesn't since you might have to wait a bit for the answer. Why bother people at all with such a question. I am sure you know there are more efficient ways to do it. If you are not killing yourself, follow the directions on the package of the pills.

It can kill. The Ibuprofin will suck all of the water out of your liver and you will feel very dehydrated and your organs will shut down. But most of the time your body will force you to throw it up or if your liver is good it will just make you pass out and your body will filter it slowly. There really is no reason to kill yourself though. I know from personal experience that its not worth trying and the ibuprofin method really sucks and is a little painfull, your head will hurt so bad like a terrible hangover
