I am dating my ex again and I see so much potential in her. She has self esteem issues that stem from bad relationships that broke us up before. She says she has gotten a grip on those issues now and wants to slowly persue a relationship again. I agreed. Do you think people can overcome such obstacles and be happy with someone?

Id like to say yes .. it can work if your both trying and if you can be understanding of each other .. it may not be easy cuz low self esteem causes lots of problams jealousy fights ect..but if you love each other and work together as one then i defiantly think you can make it work .. maybe you can help her with her insecurities ? you can over come in together ..take a chance follow your heart if the feelings are there then go for it !! nuttin in life worth having ever comes easy and there will always be obstacles ..it just bring you closer .. good luck wish u both the best !!

This is very suspect. This gal has a history of bad relationships, including one with you. Can someone overcome this? Yes they can. She wants to "go slow", and that sounds like a good step, depending on what "go slow" means.

If she's got past emotional issues, you should build trust over a long period of time. Remember that physical contact (i.e. getting undressed) can give a feeling of closeness and trust where none exists, so both of you should keep pants on for a long time. You don't want to end up pregnant, and bound to someone who really needs to heal first.

You are a kind person to take on the challenge. You deserve a whole person as a mate, and if she can't give that to you, that's her choice, and you need to go elsewhere. But if she's doing what she needs to be a good mate to you, then best wishes!

This may become like a sore that you keep picking the scab off; you just can't stop. I do believe that she can overcome her issue but it will take time, you must have patients. Good luck

Yes, if you want to wait a looooonggggg time.
OR, the two of you join a gym. Intense exercise (somehow!) "burns" her bad emotions out. I do not know how it works, but when I exercise intensely - I do not know how many times I have had a really bad day, exercise - and wham! I feel amazingly better.

it depends if she just said that or if she really meant it. If she really meant it than TOTALLY all the way... but if not then tell her that she truely has to forget those problems and move on in life.... in the nicest way you can... good luck
