I was shipped off to boarding school right after turning 16, and came home in much worse shape than when I went. I came home pregnant, and had learned all sorts of new tricks to getting in trouble.
Just curious as to wether anyone else ever had a bad experience with a boarding school that was suppose to make them better?

I to had a blast at my boarding school! However, the dean, the teachers, and the counselors did not do their jobs. My parents thought they were paying for a good boarding school, it had an excellent reputation. But we were allowed to run buck wild once the school day was over. I had a dorm counselor walk in on my b/f and I having sex. He said sorry and turned around and walked out. Of course none of us kids were going to tell our parents what was going on, we were having way to much fun!
I am mainly just curious if anyone else's parents were swindled out of the small fortune that boarding schools cost.

Well, I attended a boarding school when i was very young for 2 years overseas (Spain) and it was a beautiful experience, the school was run by nuns and they were very loving and supportive... In the other hand my teen-aged brother has been in a boarding home for the last 4 years and he was sent there basically because of his behavior, we just could not control him at the house...The school's staff has actually been very helpful and they have been very invloved in my brother's life to help him through his problems and issues but there is just not enough staff for the amount of kids the school has and this kids are not just your typical regular kids but kids that are just like my brother if not worst, out of control, tough, intimidating, violent, thirsty for attention and demanding---- well, needless to say my brother has been in so many fights that I cant even count with my fingers, he has been hurt, hurt others, have become an angrier kid and earlier in the year was in a fight involving a weapon-- dont want to get too much into detail but he was thrown out of the school and has been lucky that he was just given Probation (he didnt hurt anyone)---- After a Psych. evaluation he has been accepted to the same school but in the most restrictive program, away from the rest of the kids with daily counseling!!! He will actually be supervised--- lets see how that works out- Part of probation was for him to remain at the school in the "special program" away from the "victim"

I went to boarding school when I was 16 and loved it. Maybe it depends on your home situation and the school you were previously at. Also, I went to military boarding school with 900 guys and 100 girls (lol). suprisingly no one got pregnant the whole 2 yrs i was there, but then again the infirmary (nurse) did give out condoms for the asking. What did your folks say about you coming home pregnant and was it an all girl school? If so they must not have been taking very good care of you. email if you want to talk.
