Long distance relatitionships are difficult, but they can be done. However eventually the relationship will have to end the distance or the distance will end the relationship.

For me, the idea of a relationship is for the couple to BE THERE for each other. If you are in a new relaionship, distance WILL kill it because you DO NOT have anything invested in the relationship - time, love, money, trust. For a couple that has been together, for the right reasons, and for awhile, distance is much less a problem.

I'm in a long distance relationship right now. I've been with the same guy for almost 16 months. I think if anything would destroy our relationship it would be not seeing each other for a long period of time. Or if we didn't trust each other. We're both honest people and we love each other so that is part of the reason our relationship works.

Most people try to form a partnership in hopes of getting closer to someone. Long distance relationships are usually best catered to people who like to play it safe. That way when the relationship goes belly up, it's the distance that can be blamed.
I hope this answer just changed a life. Peace.

That depends on how committed the couple is to the relationship. I know relationships with troops kept within fidelity after shipping out for months on end and I know men who have their women right in front of them and they are doing their sister. It is who you are as a person not the distance.

the only thing that could kill a long distance relationship would be if either person cheated on the other..but they can work well if you have a strong relation.

If the relationship is already well established, short-term is okay. Anything more than a year and the resentment begins to grow, and Grow, and GROW!
Remember:
Out of sight; out of mind
Absence makes the heart go wander
Need I say more?
