Why does American McGee's Alice keep freezing on my computer?

Question

Basically, everything is perfect, but after the intro cut scene I start playing for a few seconds and it just freezes. Not really freezes, but runs so slowly and choppy as if it were frozen *but it was perfectly smooth for a five seconds or so just before*. I've reinstalled the game, closed all background apps, and even tryed playing on a different account, but the problem still persists. On top of all this, I'm using a Windows XP pro Alienware, which is supposed to be known as the ultimate gaming computer because of its top of the line parts an assembly.

Can anyone help me on this? Plz? ^_^;

I've also noticed that when I play, CPU Usage platueas at 100%. I'm guessing this could be the problem, but how can I lower it?

I've got this game myself... loved it!
If it freezes in the same spot every time... it could very well be the game.
Or it could be a number of things. I clean out top of the line gaming computers on a daily basis that have been reduced to nothing more than an industrial paperweight because of the adware/spyware, and other spineless crap that is just sitting there sucking on the CPU. If you think this might be the case, do an internet search and find these programs.
Ad aware, Hijackthis, and if you don't already have an antivirus, run a free online virus scan with trend micro's PC Cillin. If you absolutely can't afford an antivirus, download the free version of AVG. It does NOT catch everything. It doesn't even BEGIN to, but it us better than nothing. If you have Norton or Mcaffee... you could still have a bug. PC Cillin catches everything that they don't.
I also recommend a good registry cleanup program like registry mechanic to finish up your clean up session.
