Illegal aliens are NOT doing work Americans won't do. What jobs won't Americans do? In most states, Americans still clean their own houses, do their own landscaping, clean hotel rooms, work in restaurants and fast food places, paint houses, DO CONSTRUCTION WORK, work in airports, etc. - just like we have the past 200 years before "our" government allowed these people to invade our country. There are 18 million Americans who cannot find a job, so illegal aliens who are coming here to work do so at peril to American workers.

Yeah it's true that SOME Americans do their own house work and yard work, funny thing is that the ones that don't do their own, hire illegals to do it for them. Americans are the ones that are lazy and don't want to pay the full amount out to labors such as in construction, so they hire the ones they can take advantage of, the people that don't have a voice. If you walk into a hotel you'll see nothing but immigrants cleaning the rooms. Why is this, because most Americans believe they are too good to do such menial jobs. We can not fault ALL of these people that come to America for a better life. We as Americans should rise up and help the Countries that need the support rather than hating the ones who are just trying to keep their families alive and well.

Don't you understand that the whole focus of this bill finally coming up is that illegals have gotten so comfortable here they don't want to do agricultural jobs once they find their feet and can get construction jobs etc? Agribusiness which would get 1.5 dedicated guest workers a year under the Senate bill (all of whom would be on path to citizenship and able to bring in family) asked that the quest workers be required to stay in agriculture for at least 5 years. The illegal worker system was no longer working for them.

And as to the construction and restaurant jobs the illegals move up the ladder to perform, those are definitely jobs that Americans do -- and used to do for higher pay.

I have read some of you answers, and it appears that some of the people that have sent in a response have not done their homework. FIRST , when it say illegal immigrants it means ANYONE who is not legally in this country from another country. Why do you all assume that MEXICO is the only country that has people here. Yes our jails are full of illegal immigrants, ours services such as medical aide, schools and other facilities are full because of the illegal immigrants. Alot of county facilities in the California area are closing because of the cost that illegal immigrants have cost our counties. Don't believe me, who else goes to the county emergency room because of a toothache. If an AMERICAN goes to any emergency room, one of the first questions that is asked, do you have medical insurance, does an emergency room turn away an illegal if he cannot pay, no. Who then foots the bill, the tax payers, the middle class workers pay for it, why is that. I've heard the hospital say send it to the Government to pay. Why don't they sent it to the EMBASSY where they are from and see if they'll pay for it. So before you engage in a conversastion about a sensitive topic such as this, do a little bit of home work first. And to the young lady who is serving in our armed forces (EREN) its a privilege to be in our country, not a right. I too served in our armed forces, my father and grandfather are from other countries who entered the UNITED STATES LEGALLY. So please don't try to use that as an excuse for allowing ANY ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT into this country. If they do not like our laws then go home.

No, Mexicans are NOT doing jobs that Americans won't do for the reasons that you state.

But when you have a company that KNOWS that there will be no penalty for them giving a job at a rate of pay below the going rate to someone, even if they do NOT know the job - under the table so as to not have to pay taxes - and they know that they will not be fined and face no penalty........

It isn't till those that are out of work and those who's work has been effected because of such practices make their voices heard and demand that the laws be enforced and such will no longer be allowed to do business in such a manner - and vote those out that will not enforce the laws and stand up to business and government that this is going to stop.

Yes !! For every job an Illegal alien takes they make another !
Let me elaborate ! People with jobs spend money and in doing so they are making more jobs ! If you are living on $8.00 an hour chances are your spending every thing you make just to survive . Your pay is redistributed into many different company's and those company's redistribute the moneys as pay ! The more goods we consume the the more jobs we make ! It's supply and demand ! These people take a low paying job and in turn are making a new low paying job in being a consumer ! So you see no harm done !!

3. Do NOT want to work when they come to work

It's not that Americans won't do the work, it's that they want a living wage to do the job, not what amounts to slave wages. Our government DOESN'T want the problem fixed because it helps keep wages low for their campaign contributors.
