Yes---it does help a little bit. This is because when you chew, enzymes are released in the saliva, which help to break down plaque.
it does not replace brushing or flossing, though.
And, of course, it does not good to chew gum with sugar in it, kind of defeats the purpose.

Yes
Chewing gum makes your mouth produce more saliva, which helps to cancel out the acid in your mouth after eating or drinking. It has been proven that using sugar-free chewing gum after meals can prevent tooth decay. However, it is important to use only sugar-free gum, as ordinary chewing gum contains sugar and therefore may damage your teeth.

Yes, as it helps remove food particles from your teeth. Sugar-free gum would be better, but even gum with sugar has benefits which outweigh the negatives after a meal.

It might....if you chew very vigorously.
Bust the best way is to floss after every meal. And if you have the willpower, brush, too.
Chewing gum after a meal will most likely help your breath, and your breath only.
Hope this helps! =]

umm no. brushing is the only sre way to help plaque build up. although if you brush your teeth and chew trident whitener, then it will act as a crutch and your teeth will then whiten.
