Because a LOT of the world population DOES NOT believe or care about a book written by men centuries afterJesus christ's life.
Get real, the bible is JUST a book, no more, no less!

I didn't see the questions, but yeah that's a popular question and YES I CAN READ unlike most xians that haven't even read the bible and try to tell me what it says. My opinion is that it's rather ignorant to base your morals on what a 2000 yr old book says. How about using some logic to answer the question instead of the bible? Does it really hurt anyone for two people of the same gender to have sex? Does it matter if they were born that way or choose to be that way? Don't they still deserve the same respect? Isn't there homosexuality in most species of animals thus it is a NATURAL occurrence?

I can and have read many scriptures. Why are YOU asking this question? How many of these types of questions to do you see every single day? God loves you, and you know that. God loves me, and I know that. But I don't care if someone is gay because that's not for ME to Judge. Only God has that right. Only God. One of the finest things God taught me is how to love. So that's what I do. I love you any way you are, no matter what that way is. So if someone is gay, fine. I love you. You're fine the way you are.

You are making the common mistake of thinking that because some man wrote something in the Bible, it is the word of God.
God never spoke to any man. Man just gets an idea and claims it came from God, but in reality, noone can prove it came from God. You can tell most statements in the Bible did not come from God, because they are written from a human perspective. If they were written by God, they would not be written in such a childish manner.

Great job!
The problem lies with the churches that teach it's OK.
The Church needs to get a huge wake up call! The True Chruch is made up of individual people, not ANY denomination!
The problem is, too many are too comfortable! Listening to whatever the man in the pulpit says, without searching and praying God's Word for themselves.
PEOPLE! THERE'S GONNA BE A TEST! :) ... remember only 5 out of the 10 virgins made it....all were dressed and ready...all had lamps....but, only half of them had the oil.....

You are absolutely correct: many people CANNOT read. They may be able to pronounce the words and string them along in a sentence, but when it comes to the meaning of what they have read, they are way off base.
Another example that I see and hear very often is that a Christian has no right to judge!! Many do not know what "judge" means. For them, it always means "arbitrary condemnation". But John 7 24 clearly says that we are to judge. In this case, one is duty-bound to discern and evaluate doctrines and practices, and govern his actions accordingly. So yes, I have the right to judge homosexuality; I do not have the right to condemn the homosexual. I wonder how many would read and understand that?
After reading the post by Always Laughing above, I wonder if she knows that the Old Testament clearly identifies FOUR different laws? Does she realize that the Law of Love (Love to God and love to our fellow humans) mentioned by Jesus ARE DIRECT QUOTES FROM THE OLD TESTAMENT?

well then if you are going to live under the law than you must live under the whole law. Don't mix two cloths together, if your husband dies, then his brother will have to have sex with you to impregnate you so the lineage carries down, you have to sacrifice an animal to ask God for forgiveness, you can't eat pork and so on. We don't live under law anymore, Jesus came to fulfill it. Do you know what that means? Grace covers our sins and defines what is and isn't sin. If you read why God destroyed Sodom was because of the wickedness in the heart-thus raping the two angels that came to visit Levi. That is harm and violating the law of love in which Jesus commands in I John 3:11-24. You are making a judgement on homosexuality by quoting law that we don't live under. Love is our new command.

I can read. Obviously. The bible is against homosexuality. I am not. I believe in sexual and moral freedom. I choose not to judge. I also choose not to follow scripture as it is archaic and erroneous.
Supposing the bible were true, then no heterosexual shall judge a homosexual. You must leave that up to God. One thing the bible does not teach you is to pass judgement. So I am obeying the scripture in this sense.
I like the bible like I liked Moby Dick. A great piece of fiction.

They can read it, but reject it.
"Don't ask me to give up my sin. I can still be a good person even if I sin."
B.S.
I also like the line "God knows my heart." Yes, God does know your heart, and you should be worried because what is in your heart comes out in your words and actions. So, if you are actively sinning, it is because of the sin in your heart.

Because its a free country!!!! Not everyone reads the bible and believes in god. And even if you do believe in god why not let to each their own and get a life and stop worrying about what everyone else is doing and worry about yourself!
