How do I break up with a guy without hurting him?

I went out with this guy for 3 years and we broke up last year. We just started going out again about a month ago, but:

1) I haven't had any peace about our relationship.
2) I don't love him anymore.

I REALLY don't want to hurt him because he's a great guy, but I just can't be with him anymore! We started going out when I was 12 and he was 13. What do I do?

There really isn't anyway to tell a guy that you wanna break up wit him.... they will get hurt no matter what. Now, you can tell him that it is nothing that he did, that it's just been to long for you and you don't feel that spark anymore. Let him know that you definately want to still be friends but nothing more. If he as good a guy as you say, he should understand. The best wishes to you and ur life

Well sounds like you both are still really young. you both were so young when you started dating.I know that age means nothing when you have spent alot of time together but if your not happy he won't be either.So you need to sit him down and tell him that he is a great guy and he deserves someone that can give him all not part. Also tell him that you want to remain friends if that is what you want. Just be honest , no break-up is easy but you and him get through it.

You should definately do it in person, and do it gradually. Make him not like you. Start hanging out with more guys, and he will get jealous and angry. If you want to do it a more straightforward way, you could just sit him down and tell him... like "I just don't feel the same away about you as I used to" or something like that. Then say you will be his friend, and really be his friend, don't just say that. He will still enjoy time together. Don't act weird either when you aren't going out, just act natural. Joke a lot when you are hanging out but not going out, to lighten things up.

Wow. Are you not a little young to care? Why did you reunite to begin with? You made it a 1,000 times harder on both of you by getting back together in the first place. If he is really into you, you are going to hurt him regardless of how you do it. Just get it done with. Its kind of like the theory behind ripping off a band-aid fast.
