Is it true that the position you sleep in can put pressure on certain organs/musscles and if so what is the best and most healthiest way to sleep?

The fetal position is the best way to sleep as long as your neck is supported by pillows and is straight alignment to the spine, also you sleep faster this way. Sleeping on your back puts pressure on your lungs.

Apparently sleeping flat on your back with no pillow is best because it eases the strain on your heart. It is easier for your heart to pump blood if you are flat as opposed to having to pump all the way up from your feet against gravity. Also, laying on your back prevents any strange twists of the back, which could cause strain and back pain.

I think it is on your side in the fetal position. I saw something like that on discovery channel a few years ago... but I am not 100% sure.

On your side or flat on your back. I used to sleep on my stomach with my head turned to the side, and that put so much pressure on my jaw that I dislocated it (not an experience I'd recommend to anyone!).

I think it is true. The best position to sleep is on your back!

i heard about the "royal sleep" or something like that where the royals supposedly sleep by laying down on their backs, hands on the side, legs apart... like you're standing up, but only your on your back. it's strange to sleep that way though.
