i would like to know why we cant swim certain days

what is the reason that we cant swim !
which are the exact days cant we swim !

Hi,

This is generaly followed by religious Orthodox Jews. Most other Jews are barely aware of this.

There is a period in the summer time called the "Three Weeks". These weeks lead up to the hebrew date of the 9th of Av, the date that both temples in Jerusalem were destroyed. As is the case, it is considered a period of "national mourning" and some rules were adopted to demonstrate a period of mourning.
The last nine days are more strict than the previous. Generally speaking, one does not bathe for pleasure (but only for cleanliness). Since swimming is a form of "bathing for pleasure" (for most people), we abstain from swimming for this period.
Another restriction during this time period is to abstain from eating meat (except on the Sabbath).

Look at a Jewish calendar to find out the exact days during a given summer. (Falls in June/July/August).

Jews like all men develop custom or what's called tradition; the non Christian Jews are peculiar in "Tradition" in that because they historically were inward-bound to their own fashions: have brought themselves to lean on their customs, and perhaps it could be said... That this is something which is shown in their rejection of the Messiah which was given them; rather they call themselves "religious Jews' and are wary of water rather than living for 'Every word which comes from the Mouth of God'.
