Hmmm...good question. I was going to suggest a dessert that is just a rectangle cake with cool whip on top and bluberries and strawberries added in the pattern of the U.S. flag.

finger foods are easy. or you can grill meat and asks guests to bring a dish. i recently had a huge party/cookout for memorial day. it was a lot of work! next time i'm going to be looking for some easier things to prepare. but you can buy snacks like chips, varieties of pickles. have a fruit tray, cheese tray, assorted crackers, little wienies and meatballs. buy potato salad, macaroni salad, or other sides from your local deli to make things a little easier. if you don't want to spend lots of time baking try those break-and-bake cookies, or buy a decorated cake. here are some sites for easy recipes. and go to your local party supply store for a chafing set. this will keep foods warm so you don't have to spend time reheating.
