main? do you mean mane? If so then it is up to the owner of the dog. You can cut the mane without any problems, most owners just like the "lion" look it provides.

what? shaving a dog does not do anything to cool it down. they don't sweat through their skin. they sweat throught their paws. that is why they pant. to get cool air over their tongues to cool the blood as it circulates throught the body.

you can shave a dogs mane.its really up to you youself.i shave it all the time.when its hot out.i have a lhaspo aspo.and everyone says oh my god you shaved her.i answer yes i did its too hot out,.but to answer your question.YES YOU CAN SHAVE THE DOG'S MANE.
