It's nearly impossible not to at a graveside service in a big cemetery, though I try really hard not to and it makes me uncomfortable, yes, I have.

OMG! It's freaky that you should ask this question. Back in Fort Smith, Arkansas, there's a story of a witch's grave that my friends and I went to look for. It was at night and I didn't see where I was going until one of my friends shined his flashlight on her tombstone, and I was standing right on top of her grave! It was pretty scary. The grave was in the middle of nowhere and it dated way back into the 1700's when she died.

If it is unavoidable it is OK, it isn't like it is going to cause you to go straight to hell or anything. In certain situations it is unavoidable. Although it is respectful to the dead to avoid stepping on their graves when ever possible

Yeah, accidently a few times when I went to visit my grandfather's grave. I was trying to pull weeds out of it and clean it up as best as I could. Steeping on it was unavoidable.

Of course, not to be rude or anything. I think it's a stupid belief. I mean come on! The landscaping people ride over them with lawn mowers for Christ's sake!
