should treat it's illegal immigrants like Mexico treats theirs?

Mexico sends it's illegal immigrants to prison for two years. Someone who illegally RETURNS are sent away for 10 years.

Someone who marrys a foreigner to help that person live in Mexico gets 10 years.

In fact, almost all immigration violations results in prison in Mexico.

Should America adopt Mexican standards in regards to illegal immigration?

I personally have suggested that we adopt the very same laws as they have within Mexico for this country - esp after Fox came here talking about how he didn't agree with what our congress was thinking of doing on the immigration bills.

Double standards bother me - which is maybe why so many of his citizens leave. That and the free ride that they get over here.....

That seems a little harsh. Illegal immigration is definitely a hot topic and the government needs to do something about it. I think that the government should punish individuals that hire illegal immigrants, it would be easy to prosecute them under the tax evasion laws that are already in place. You can not blame an individual for wanting a better life for themselves and their families, but they need to immigrate legally. They need to apply, just like everybody else does. I think that they need to get over the fact that they do not need to follow the rules, just because their country may border ours. It is an insult to let them stay, when other people wait years to immigrate legally. If a person does not want to follow our laws, they should not be allowed to stay here.

No, our prisons are over crowded, and I won't allow one more dollar of my tax dollars be spent to house, and feed these criminals. America has plenty of it's own desperate criminals to support. They need to be deported, and their home country's fined for breach of American International Security. Then the country is forced to accept responsibility for the actions of these criminals.
Illegals that are repeat offenders need to be told that if they violate our border laws again they will be shot, in the to ensure the security of our borders remains. No prisons! Which means no more free housing, and food. Amnesty has been given to these people twice, and now they believe they have a right to demand it. If I breach Mexico's borders repeatedly, I can be shot on sight, being as I am American. No more tax dollars should support these criminals, and they are a disgrace to the real immigrants of this country.

I'm a Canadian, but I don't believe letting illegal immigrants stay in the United States makes sense. It means American employers have a pool of cheap labour with no vote, no minimum wage, no rights, no benefits, nothing-- so it really hurts American born workers and creates unemployment. The rich are getting richer from this. It's a sick situation.

I would not sink to their level. America needs to enforce its laws no more and no less. The penalty for being here illegally is deportation and that should be enforced.

Those who choose to not enforce the laws of this great country are just as bad as those who choose to break them; including both illegal aliens and employers.

either that or send ALL of the illegals to mexico, then they would be in jail down there and mexico could foot the bill for a while.

We don't have room in the jails for our own criminals, so we would have to build more jails. Haliburton has been contracted by the government for 385 million dollars to build concentration camps throughout the US, which they have been working on for several months. I hope these camps are for illegal Mexicans, but I heard Bush is going to give them amnesty.....)(

No cause then they are getting what they want, to stay in the U.S. I think they should be deported and put in a Mexican prison.
