Keep the gauze in only if the gums are still bleeding. Change it every hour or so. You should not eat anything solid today, and it may be a couple of days before you should eat anything spicy or hard. You should really call the dentist back tomorrow morning to get his instructions because you are wide open for infection. If he gave you an antibiotic and pain medication, which he should have DO NOT drink milk. It will make you sick as a dog. Smoothie's are great for your problem. They are nutricious and delicious as well. Broth is also a good idea. You should probably wait to go back to work if you are on pain medication. Take extra care not to draw out the clot as it can cause dry socket and hurts like a son of a gun. Please call your dentist and get instruction from them instead of a bunch of strangers. Nana

My goodness! The dentist or staff should have followed up with you before you left after the extractions. You keep the gauze in and bit down with a little pressure until the bleeding stops. This helps prevent dry sockets.
Do not smoke for minimum 3 days, or drink using a straw, as the air being sucked in, will increase your chances for dry sockets.
Do not brush teeth in the vicinity they were extracted, so the stitches stay in to heal for few days.
Are you bad in pain, that the dentist prescribed pain killers? It may make you nauseous.
Keep up with any penicillin they prescribed.
Contact the doctor seriously for this information, horrible they told you nothing.

I just got all 4 of mine taken out last week. Rinse with warm salt water (tall glass w/ 1/2 a teaspoon of salt). Brush your teeth and tongue after eating and just gently go over the areas that had the extraction. Keep your mouth clean all of the time. Don't use straws or suck on anything - it can hurt your healing and make it worse. Eat soft foods for the first few days.

Gargle with warm salt water (1/4 teaspoon of salt in 1 cup warm water). Rinse your moth again and again until the cup of water is gone. Do this 3-4 times a day. Tylenol for any pain, ice packs if your jaw is sore. In 3 or 4 days you'll be back to normal. Soft food is recommended until your gums heal up a bit. Good Luck!

Don't eat solids for about 3 day....take pain medication when you feel like it.....try and relax...if you don't feel like work tomorrow than don't.....your body has just been violated and you will not feel yourself for at least 3 days. Keep the gauze in for at least 2 hours....if you feel bleeding then reinstall the gauze....don't smoke, drink through a straw or spit till tomorrow. Focus on eating soup and oatmeal. When your body adjusts you will naturally feel better and crave solids.
Good Luck and I hope your better soon :)
Call in sick tomorrow...the world would understand :)

Gargle plenty of salt water. You can eat solid food as soon as you can tolerate it, almost immediately. The guaze can be removed 4-6 hrs, make sure your mouth stays really moist, you don't want to remove the blood clots. Don't do anything that creates suction in your mouth for a few days, you don't want to get what is called a "dry socket" they are extremely painful, from what I understand.

i might quite pass on your dentist to be certain what's caught in there. you do no longer want it to be food by way of fact it would desire to reason an infection. you apart from might do no longer want to pass poking around back there with sharp issues like toothpicks. once you pass on your dentist, ask for a syringe that has a great, prolonged tip. Fill it with 3/4's mouthwash and a million/4 water. Stick the top of the syringe interior the hollow and wash-out the wallet gently. whether you think of you haven't any longer have been given food back there, you likely do. that's good to bathe out your wallet a minimum of two-three times an afternoon to circumvent an infection. (it is what my dentist steered me to do.) additionally, once you are going to bathe your mouth out with water, make advantageous that's salt water! It helps the wallet heal!

Everyone has great advice and they are all correct. Also, try biting on wet tea bags where the teeth were pulled if you are still bleeding.
