Losing weight depresses you normally? Or getting fitter normally depresses you?
I don't know....
I guess you gotta decide which you wanna be
1) depressed and fit
2) fat and ?happy?
Go for depressed and fit because I am guessing that after you start watching what you eat...and after you start working out and meeting new people to work out with....you won't be depressed anymore....

Do your dieting and exercise the right way...
Keep in mind you are doing this for yourself and nobody else and understand it will not happen over night.
But, keep a close eye on your body and remember that muscle weighs more than fat so do not go by the scale... use a measuring tape and measure yourself every 4 weeks (lets say the 1st of the month) Make sure its the same time of day and the say day each month (late afternoon - before dinner is best)
And your drive will be when you see the difference as time passes!
Good luck!

I find writing in a journal really helps! Writing down your thoughts can be a great outlet for venting emotions and rather than the thoughts going around and around in your head - they almost escape onto the page and the 'burden' of depression is lifted. i understand it isn't that simple but it does contribute towards making yourself feel that bit better!

Focus on the destination rather than the journey. Every time you get depressed and want food, just think of how great you will look and feel when you reach your goal. Good luck and hang in there.

I think that you can do that by finding a joyful way of losing weight....for example...you can go to a gym and in the same time listen to music..or when you go for a walk you can think at something that makes you feel better...

If you exercise a lot you'll actually start to feel better. Took me about 3-4 months of continuous exercise before I was like wow, I like this, I like how I am starting to look, etc...

Hit the gym. I was diagnosed with depression a few years ago and trust me, hitting the gym as hard as you can can definitely increase your self-confidence.
