She can has she had all her shots? I 'm guessing she has but she could because some dead animals have parasites and worms that are different from the dog and cat worms and it can make your dog really sick and there is different diseases too plus the bacteria that it has because not really sure how long it has been dead and it has bacteria that can make your dog very sick. I 'm not trying to scare you or make you upset I would have her looked at she probably will be just fine but just to make sure I would beside there different types of rabies out there and all kinds of ways to get it.. good luck..

Yes, your dog could very well get sick from eating a dead possum.

Not unless, the possum ate rat poison, or something toxic that killed it...if yer dog killed it, make sure yer dog is up to date on rabies, and even if the dog is not up to date, check with yer vet to see if THEY recommend up dating the vaccine? Obviously (I'd assume) possum's don't taste all that great and you may see vomiting or diarrhea if the dog actually digests it. Oh yeah, watch for bones, don't let yer dog eat bones, of any sort...If there is vomiting and diarrhea (little or excessive) please seek a vet, ASAP.

I wouldn't keep her in the house beause her stomach will be upset and you dont want to have to clean anything out of your carpet. Keep her in the garage or outside and watch her, unless she starts to throw up or act like something's wrong she'll be fine. Dogs can eat all kinds of things! They're just animals but if they're not used to eating anything besides dog food if they eat ANYTHING else they'll get an upset stomach but not diseased or anything. The only thing you would have to really worry about is if the possum had rabies but that's unlikely. If your dog is up to date on her shots she'll be totally fine. Just watch her! Hope that helps

If the possum has something wrong with it, maybe, but the odds are no, I would take it to the vet if you want to be safe...plus the stomich acid will probably eliminate this...plus dogs are naturally predators, and they will eat that kind of thing... You really should not be worried about your dog... I hope this helped!

It is possible that she can get sick. If the possum had a bacteria or a disease it's more likely. If she starts acting strange then I would recommend taking her to a vet immediately.

Hi, I do not think that she will get sick ,as remember when dogs were in the wild, they would eat anything. Just keep an eye on her and if you notice any changes, take her to the vet. She might get "the runs" from it, but I really feel she will be ok. Good Luck and God Bless!!!!!

Well, it depends on what the possum died from...
I would just keep an eye on her, she'll either throw it up or digest it. If she is acting funny in a couple days, take her to the vet.

well, if it had rabies, or was dead for a long enough time to contract too much bacteria.

wild dogs eat dead stuff all the time, but rabies is probably the biggest concern here.
