Does it mention in the Bible when the Virgin Mary was born and if so, where was she born and who were her parents?

If it does not mention in the Bible where the Virgin Mary was born, where do Scholars and leaders of the Christian Church (Catholiic, Protestant, and Orthodox) beleive when in BC/BCE was she born and who were her parents were?

Mary's parents were Joachim and Anne. Both are saints of the Roman Catholic Church. She was probably born around 12 or 13 BC, perhaps earlier, since she is presumed to have been fairly young when Christ was born in 1 AD. Where was she born? Somewhere in Galilee.

The truth? We just don't know. The Bible doesn't mention any specifics about her birth or parentage. The statements that she was descended from Aaron, etc. come from attempts to reconcile the differing geneaologies of Christ in the gospels. (saying one gospel traces Christ through Mary, the other through Joseph). This is nonsense, rejected by history and the church for a very long time (read Julianus Africanus) but still espoused by those ignorant of the truth and the manner of Jewish lineage.

The story of St. Anne is apocrophal (dreamed up after the fact).
In the first-third centuries A.D. many Christians wanted details on the life of Christ, his family, etc. But... all those who knew were already dead. There were a lot of books written to fill this void (stories of Christ as a child, his family, the death of Joseph, stories of Mary Magdalene, etc.) Unfortunately, there's no reason to believe any of them. They filled a need and made some profit, perhaps, but are no more truthful than Alice in Wonderland.

Believe what you like (many in the church have done so for millenia) but the truth is, we just don't know the truth about Mary.

Look at the website www.christiananswers.net and search Mary, the first topic that comes up Mary, the Mother of Jesus gives her genealogy. If it wasn't so long I would type it.

Hmm.. Catholics believe that Jesus' mother was Saint Anne.

But as of late I think it has been discounted as a made up story to piece all of Jesus and his ancestor's history together- don't quote me on that though!

Here's an old link on Saint Anne. Hope it helps.

First of all, I think you should change your 'pen name' since you don't do it any justice... i.e., you should be doing more research rather than asking others to do it for you here.

In answer to your question, briefly, Mary was the daughter of Anna and Joachim and they all belonged to the Brotherhood of Essenes.

The rest of it, you should find out for yourself and you'll be surprised as to what else you might learn...

Peace be with you!

I can only help you with one aspect and that is that St. Anne was Mary's mother.
