If the whole world was only atheist..........?

Would there still be a religion and spirituality section in Yahoo Answers? BC munkee, captain atheist, what kind of questions would you be answering if this section didn't exist?

No, these questions would go where they fit, in the mythology and folklore section. There's only a separate section for religion because people would get offended if there weren't. Personally I would be back answering computer and internet questions without this section, most likely. That's where the first five hundered or so of my answers are. Did quite well there. In fact I'll likely go back there at some point anyway, stay there for a while, then come back here, rinse, repeat. They both interest me.

If the whole world was atheist there may just be a chance for world peace! A world devoid of relgion would have stopped all the pissing matches between religions and mankind could focus its attention on much more important things, like improving the quality of life for everyone - rather than building Vaticans and churches with gold pillars, statues, and altars (that you could feed nations with), or "crystal cathedrals", or any other major symbols of religious conquest you can think of.

We could use our financial resources to study and cure disease, educate everyone -regardless of their background, we could form colonies in the safe zone outside Mars (for when the sun goes red giant and destroys the inner planets), we could research and develop endless sources of energy, we could have true equality amongst people - no rich, no poor, no middle class...

There's plenty to be done without religion or it's meddling.

As for Yahoo! Answers, well, there would still be the rest of the categories to contend with. Since, in this hypothetical situation, there is no religion, then perhaps we'd simply meet each other in other sections, rather than bickering. Then perhaps we could continue helping each other out by answering and asking questions.

In short, the world would be a significantly better place if we could simply remove religion from the equation.

Probably not. And for the record, if the whole world was only atheists, the world will be a much better place. Most wars now are fought over religion. No religion, no wars. Enough said.

If the whole world was atheist you would not be allowed to ask questions, on yahoo or anywhere else. You would simply be told what to think and exterminated if you disobeyed.Some people think this equals peace, and it is true there would be no war if the whole world was under the heel of one dictator, but there would be no hope or freedom either.Such as in North Korea.

They'd still have the section. It would feature questions like "Remember when people were really dumb and believed that Thor was the God of Thunder, and Zeus was king of the God's and that the bible was true?"

Too which the answer would be: "Yep, those sure were some backward *** times"....

Instead we get "If man evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?"

If the whole world was athiest, It would be a lot worse, yet very simple. For instance, there would be no churches,no ACLU, and the pledge of alligence wouldn't say "One Nation, Under God" .
