Praying to a MAN is wrong. What has any man done to entitle him to be worshipped?
You can pray to God, that is a PERSONAL choice.
Regardless of what SOME athiests may say, it doesn't make you stupid. When you pray to a man because you are told he is the only acceptable god, and you accept that without questioning, you ARE stupid.

I'm not saying ALL christians or muslims are stupid, its just that you should try to disprove/test things before you commit your entire life/soul to it, RIGHT? If your religion stands up to the test, go for it.

As for "barbaric" and "sinful" haven't those words been thrown around enough to be meaningless now. What race/religion/group
hasn't been called barbaric or sinful by crooked clergy in attempts to demonize and scapegoat them?
Besides isn't a crucifix a GRAVEN IMAGE? christians worship yeheshua, don't they. They say he IS god, wich is how they get around the "have no other gods before me" part, right.

Praying to a 'bloodied dying man held on a wooden structure by crude nails'... IS BARBARIC AND SINFUL period. What you should be praying to is the father of this man...the father who gave up his son as a sacrifice so that we could receive the message of his boundless love for us. Jesus Christ was the human form or messenger of God the almighty. The message was 'Love one another as I love you'. The light Christ was talking about was 'God's kingdom is not of this earth'. 'Store not earthly treasures... for they will soon crumble and turn to dust'. But 'store your good works and deeds in heaven where you heavenly father watches and will reward you in kind a thousand fold'. The messenger is not to be worshiped...the message is the important part. Christ said 'no one comes to the LORD except thru me'...this does not mean to worship Christ the person, it does mean follow in our day to day life the message and example Christ left us ...with reverence to our creator.

I wonder if you could handle what this "bloodied dying man held on a wood structure by crude nails" went through? I agree with the other guy, how could you not. Take care

The crucifixion was barbaric, but was a necessary and powerful act of love to save mankind from a barbaric eternity in hell. It is the resurrected savior we pray to and it is a sin to reject his sacrifice and gift of salvation.

well he isnt still on the cross and He was on the cross for the sins of the world, God so loved the world that sacrificed his only Son so that we Sinners may have a chance at eternal life. he died for you and me AND He rose again and is seated at the right hand of the father and intercedes for us all the time.

we pray to Jesus, the Lamb, Father, Friend, Creator, Hope to the hopeless, Love, Peace to the restless. He is the answer to any question, the solution to any problem. we pray to hav a relationship with Him so that we may know Him, He who gave us Life and then gave us eternal life.

All you have to do is asks Jesus into your heart to cleanse you of your sins and wash you in His Blood they you too will become a child of God and be given eternal life. any questions pm me

Jesus came to reconcile us to the Father and taught us to pray to Him alone. There is not one example in the Bible of anybody praying to Jesus and any Bible believing church should teach that it is wrong to do so. With great reverence I say that Christians can focus too much on Jesus, who points us to the Father, rather than the Father Himself.

As for the cross itself, it's foolishness to those on the road to hell. To me, it shows just how unfair God is. I could totally understand God wanting to kill me and condemn me to hell for the (far too) many sins I've committed, that would be fair. I thank God that He's unfair, and now I apply that same cross to my life in order that His love might shine forth.

The person I pray to is the Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ.
He is risen, alive and quite the opposite of your description of the crucified Jesus.
I know that He lives.

As Stewie on "Family Guy" once said (about a cross being hung about the kitchen doorway), "Nothing says 'chow down' like a half-naked bleeding Jew on a piece of wood."

Yep. That's why we pray to the One who overcame that by raising from the dead to return to His throne of power over all the universe. Try it - you'll like it.
