When I got married, a little over 3 years ago - my flowers cost my a little over $300 - that included my bouquet, a throw away bouquet, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, 10 boutonnieres, 2 baskets of flower petals - 4 corsages for moms and grandmas - an arrangement for around our unity candles - and an arrangement for the back of the church - I used a friend of the family and she gave me a HUGE DISCOUNT - my advice is to use connections that you may have - ask friends if they know any florists - or recommend anyone - also you can check out - I know this will sound corny - but your local grocery store that has a floral department - they can also do floral arrangements for your wedding at lower prices - I also went to the dollar store and bought silk flowers for the pew decorations - my matron of honor and I put them together - and everyone complimented me on how nice they looked - I was happy considering that we put them together the night of the rehearsal dinner - talk about last minute ;0)

GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATULATIONS!

It depends on how many tables you have (i.e. 5 tables=5 centerpieces). The cost break down consists of the type of flower, the colour and the quantity. Let's say you want to use hydrangeas, roses and orchids. Let's say your per table cost is 55 dollars (realistic), if you have ten tables this is $550, etc. If you want to save alot of money you should buy your flowers from a floral wholesaler. Roses tend to be alot cheaper this way, $.69-$.99 a stem. Then go to the floral schools, and/or universities and hire two floral students, or florist. That way you'll spend at most 600 dollars on flowers and you can pay each student 200 dollars for one days work.

That depends on the flower. Always get something local and in season that will make all the difference. Try candles they are cheaper anyway. Why pay so much for flowers and they last all of one day.

i had minimal flowers (1 bride's bouquet, 4 button holes, 1 corsage and 2 bunches of mixed flowers for church) and it came to $250. i didn't have bridesmaids or pew flowers or reception venue flowers. we decorated with candles instead.

Check out http://www.localflowershop.com
You can search for a florist in the city and state you wish and find a LOCAL florist to handle your flower order. You can send flowers and avoid wire service fees this way.
