I am new to cooking, and I cooked some chicken breasts in the oven without cleaning them first. I'm concerned about microbes or whatever, and I was going to chop the mostly cooked chicken into smaller pieces and cook them in oil.
I don't want to waste the chicken, even if it doesn't taste spectacular.
Any insights are greatly appreciated.

Cooking it removes any risks. Get a food thermometer so you know when it's done. Be careful with raw chicken. Cut it on a plastic board and wash the board in hot soapy water or in the dishwasher. Wash the utensils carefully, too. You could probably use a cookbook that tells you all about preparing chicken dishes.

As long as you cooked the chicken and it is not pink on the inside, make sure it is cooked all the way threw, then you will be okay in eating it.
Make sure that you do not leave in on the counter for more than an hour if you aren't going to eat it freeze it or put it in a tight container and put it in the fridge.
And when you reheat it make sure it is nice and hot. I think it is 150 degrees to be on the safe side.

As long as you cook the chicken all the way through, you have no risk. The reason for washing them is actually because they have a gritty film on them because of the butchering process. Just cook until the juices are totally clear.

Cook the chicken to an internal temperature of at least 165 F.

If you don't have a thermometer, cook it until all of the meat is white, not pink, and any juices run clear.

Well, you should have washed it first, but as long as it is cooked through, no pink at all, it should be ok. Cooking should kill any bacteria that was on the chicken. Next time, put them in some water before cooking.

Always wash your chicken before cooking and since chicken takes awhile to cook I suggest to boil it before cooking in the oven or BBQ...take longer but it will guarantee the chicken is cooked all the way.

And if al those other great answers aren't what you are looking for, I was taught by an old Chef years ago that for good chicken you cook the bejessus out of it, or 165-170 internal temp. whichever comes first.
