Mythology is religions of the past that are no longer practiced, i.e. Egypt, the Norse Gods, Greek and Roman Gods....they were the Gods and Goddesses of Ancient Times. Religion is the silly stories that people believe in now. I do believe, eventually, most religions will fall into the Mythology Catergory.

Have you ever noticed the amount of questions asked on the religion section in an hour alone? It helps divide up questions, even though some of them could easily fit into both. Also, religion doesn't necessarily refer to the beliefs themselves but also the practises surrounding them. Aside from that, not everyone is religious that comes onto this section some are atheists and some just consider themselves spiritual or openminded.

They're being politically correct. It annoys religious people when you categorize religion as mythology, even though that's what it is.
