i recall a few times as a marine in vietnam when we used air force "spooky gunships" sometimes known as "puff the magic dragon" for support at night during some tight spots. One night in particular they stayed with our company all night flying in circles above our perimeter raining a solid wall of fire from their mini-guns preventing us from being overrun which was very likely as we were pretty outnumbered. Funny how I never once thought about them being lower class or lazy or anything like that. Worked with an army ranger capt. on a combined operation with some popular forces...very very gutsy guy...nope..no low class there. Worked with good men from 1st arm cav and shared a perimeter...had to trust them...they had enough class for that. Had lots of navy close air support...no question about the class there...top notch. Of course navy corpsmen are the classiest of all. So I don't have much use for childish comparisons and talk about who is better...unless i'm having a beer and joking with my former airborne buddies. I respect and admire them all.
AMEN Drew

last time i checked, the air force doesn't really do much. the marines are the highest, then the army and then the navy. the navy and marines do the majority of sortie missions, such as bombing the crap out of something. the marines on the ground clean up and take out any stragglers. the army then comes in to keep order and make sure that particular place they just cleared out doesn't fall into enemy hands again. thats not always the case though, as the army does its fair share of kicking a-ss. the army is not average at all. they have, technologically speaking, the best infantry and ground support. the marines and the army are both higher class, then the navy then the air force. and don't forget about the coast guard.

All of them deserve respect.
Navy: without them there would be no Marines.
Army: without them there would be no Air Force.
So it's either Navy and Marines V.S Army and Air Force.
I will say Navy and Marines.
And for ANGELIC666, are u STUPID!? Navy Sailors get all the pu**y including Marines. U have no idea what you are talking about!
I will say Navy and Marines because:
They call the Air Force people LAZY!
They say the Army people clean up after the mess Marines did.
WINNER: NAVY AND MARINES!! GO NAVY AND MARINES!!
But they all fight for the same Country and they deserve all the respect.

For starters, no branch of the service is "classier" than the next. Each has its own mission & culture. We may give each other crap, but that's what brothers(& sisters) do to each other. I'm former active duty Air Force & currently a reservist.
We call Marines "jarheads"; Army "dog faces"; Navy "swabbies", etc. They call us "wingnuts", "chair force", "air heads", you name it. Why? Because we can. It's expected. It was going on long before I joined, & it'll be going on long after I've retired.
When it comes down to it, we want the Marines or Army there in a tough fight. I'm sure they don't mind our guys swinging by to drop a few cluster bombs or fire a couple of missiles to help them out of a scrap either.
By the way, it may be the pilots flying the planes, but it took a lot of people to get him in the air: crew chief, avionics, weapons, fuels, etc. That doesn't work only in the AF, but with Army, Navy & Marine aviation as well.
I'm not sure where you get Army & Navy being "average". I've met great people & total morons from each branch. Basically, a reflection of society itself in many respects.
True, we rag on each other & even have the occasional scrap. However, in the end we depend on each other. If someone doesn't do their job, the results can be fatal.

Marines - The Few, The Proud. God, County, Core. Live by a code and they're the 1st to fight.
Army - Backbone of the sevice. Can't win a War without the Army. Special Forces, Delta, Rangers, etc.
Navy - Naval warfare isn't fought they way it used to be but the Sub & Carrier fleet are extremelty important.
Air Force - Air cover is the key to any miltary operation. The Air Force is tops, even if it's a 9 ~ 5 war for most of 'em.

First off, the Navy is not average. Second, the Air Force is just a bunch of snobs with military benifits. Marines are warriors.

Air Force. The Marine Corps is actually part of the navy, so not a true military branch. Plus the overbearing attitude with most marines is a sign that they're compensating. If they're so cool, why have to always advertise or proove it?

MARINES!!!!! When the attack on Pearl Harbor happened there were a select few that were brought together(when the navy and the air force came together to transport them) to take the mission to bomb Japan. They were called The Few, The Proud, The Marines!!!! And no, I'm not affiliated in any shape, form, or fashion with any Marine. But, I am very proud to say that I live in a country where there are those few who are willing to give up their lives for our protection.

Neither.
The US Marine Corps is a part of the US Navy. Each branch of the military serves an important purpose and none are regarded as a higher class than another.

Marines. Cant even compare the two. Tell you what though, I've been in enough bad places, that it's a beautiful thing seeing the Air Force flyin top cover. Of course, put the Marines and the Air Force in the ring, and we'll kick their a$$es.
