when ihave it hooked up it will not give any screen selections for operation. What is error code "root" ?

Iwould have to say that you do not have it setup right or the wrong channel to get the display to work it should be either 3 or 4 another tip I want you to know to avoid a headacke big time is cyberhome is no more made at least here and mine was nothing but trouble after the first month I had it I had two the first one took a cd in and died. The second one both front and back input stopped working and the refused to repair it so if you can please take the unit back and get your money back!! get a pioneer or another brand but make sure it is a DVR I now have a pioneeer 231 it does not have the pan and zoom on it but I really did not use it on the others and it is rock solid the price was around $250
