why do people get labeled a racist or bigot when they oppose ILLEGAL immigration?notice, i typed ILLEGAL immigration.

I've noticed that here, too. You don't have to mention anything about any particular race of human beings; just say you are against all illegal immigration in the USA, and you are jumped on and called a racist. I do know that it is because they cannot reasonably and logically justify the presence of illegal immigrants and so they resort to name calling because of their lack of anything to back up their stance. Usually, too, I have found that most of those who back illegal immigrants are either in a romantic relationship with an illegal, have close friends who are illegals, have family members who are illegal, sometimes are illegal themselves, or own a business in which they prosper by hiring illegals and benefiting from their slave labour by paying cheap wages without having to pay the employers share of taxes, etc. (thereby cheating legal immigrants and American citizens), or like to also pay cheap by hiring illegals to do their housework, yardwork, childcare, etc. (again, benefiting personally from illegals).

Yeah I know what you mean. I have gotten several emails and messages calling me a bigot and racist because I stand against illegal immigration. Never once do I mention any particular group or race, yet I still get attacked and called names. It's just that those breaking the law are now trying to bring the race issue into it. But people aren't as dumb as these people seem to think they are and do see what is going on. The latest thing is now trying to bring religion into it. See the latest question I posted.

Because people don't or want to understand. Even politicians seem to get this topic wrong. I've heard our politicians & Americans say," America is the land of Immigrants!" This is totally wrong! America was and still is a land of Settlers. People came here with the idea to settle and live here. In the news last year that most immigrants here in the U.S are sending back money made here, back to their country,not putting this money back in our economy. The article stated over 60% of legal & illegal immigrants are doing this. Why aren't these people paying taxes to pay for the Social Services they use like; education,health care. Why do these people get to go on welfare? Write your Congressman & Senators and see what kind answers you get to these questions. I hope answered yours.

I don't know!!! People just don't want to see your side of your opinion so then you automatically a rasist or bigot. I think everyone should oppose Illegal immigrants, why should they just walk into our country and work what about the american citizens that belong? They should have the jobs not the immigrants.

Because most Illegal Aliens in this country are Hispanic so people assume you do not like Hispanics therefore you must be a racist. It also applies if you think everyone should be treated equal, and disagree with racial quotas to fill job vacancies. If you think that a marriage is between one man and one woman, you get labeled a homophobe. The reason for all this is because small minded people can not rationally debate these issues with much merit, therefore they resort to name calling to put you on defense.

I believe that it is a move to divert from the fact that the persons are in fact "illegal" within the borders. Easier to suggest such than to address the fact of persons that broke the law, continue breaking the law.

Personal view is that I do not give a hoot about what country they come from, the color of skin. I do have a problem with people breaking the law and reaping benefits that should be going to American citizens.

The riots that I see as a reaction to the American citizens that are pressing their congress reps to enforce the laws in one particular country today does make me wonder WHY they do not protest about their OWN GOVERNMENT and why it isn't addressing the problems within their OWN COUNTRY that make breaking the law to supposedly only for jobs (not to mention the many other 'perks' such as free medical care, food, housing, etc.) the only option that they see. Such an action by a government towards its own people you would think would have the people demanding changes within their own government - just as Americans have done and are doing.

Another important question: Why are Americans being lableled racist or bigots for wanting to keep ILLEGAL immigrants out of the USA when other countries also do not allow just anyone to waltz over their borders?

Because the same people that are labeling you as a bigot or racist are not the ones paying for their hospital bills, schooling, insurance..... the list is endless. Make sure to get out and vote.

I never noticed you getting labelled that. I guess it sounds racist when the race of the illegals is mentioned. Like the Chinese tranporting in those large moving containers and have of them dying before hand of lack air and proper facilities. The people who transport them should be caught and made to do time.
