Purchase the correct hanging hardware for your make and model of TV. Then make sure you attach to hardware to the wall by running the screws into the wall studs, or else get heavy duty hollow wall anchors.

use a jute rope on a low hanging gallow -

make sure the knot is tight enough so that you don't have any excapies
