I believe that they have an immense impact on us and our lives. If we didn't have a conscience, think of the horriffic things that we might do. One thinks of serial killers, no conscience, no remorse, desire to do it over again........Sometimes things seem so much more romantic when they are forbidden or against the so called rules....For the most part, we are all human, have wants, desires & needs that should, could & would be fulfilled within a reasonable norm. Even if it's not acceptable to society in some form or another.I for one need to live a fuller life without guilt, or remorse....How to do it is another question........

I'm a 40-yr.-old mother of three healthy children, I graduated from high school but did not go to college - so this is just my layman's opinion on your question. I believe our consciences play a very major role in our day to day lives. Even moreso, I believe the subconscience is as strong or stronger. Of course how you were raised, what faith you were taught - all of this comes into play, even if we don't realize it. Our conscience and subconsience are amazingly important and strong. Just as a side thought, for all that we DO know about he brain and human body, we still know very little.

A man's conscience and his judgment is the same thing, and, as the judgment,
so also the conscience may be erroneous.

It's one of two things the Light of Christ which is given to every person born, and then there is the inspiration of the Holy Ghost.

I've often thought of our conscience as being the 'instrument' that the Holy Spirit uses...this is just my own personal impression...not biblically supported. (Please note: I'm not saying our consciences is the Holy Spirit - Just what it uses...)

it really is our inner voice. its the angel on our sholdier that tells us even if we ought to continually do something. even if its incorrect or properly. it really is our guilt. it makes us no longer do recommend, or undesirable issues and apologise for doing those issues. yet some people, like me, are born without one!??
