I think it's a bad idea in general to look to pop music for your core beliefs. Very bad indeed. Don't get me wrong, I know the song, it's decent, but more and more I see people (teenagers mostly) just blindly parroting whatever their favorite band sings about, and calling it their own views. It's frightening, it really is, and a little sad.
