It totally depends upon the person who would be homeschooling you (your Mom, Dad, whoever). Are they willing to do it? Do they have a lot of patience? If so, I'd definitely recommend it. I homeschooled my children for a while and it was a great experience, but it's not for everyone. There are so many reasons why homeschooling is a great idea, and there are good books on the subject if you're trying to convince your parents.

P.S. I wish these people that say that homeschoolers aren't adequately socialized actually knew what they were talking about. Don't repeat rumors like that unless you've done research and have first-hand knowledge to back that up.

I was homeschooled from grade 1 through to year 10. It was great, but there are downsides to homeshooling as well. The socialisation part is a big issue and a lot of people get stuck on this one point, but the fact is there are many ways to socialise without going to school. Then there is the point are your parents willing to homeschool you, this is a big responsibility and they have to be aware of this. Then you need to work out if you can stay focused enough to do this and respect your parents enough to listen to what they are teaching you. Lastly what is the reason you want to homeschool? If it is a good reason and the above is met then you should be fine. Just realise that it isn't necessarily easier than school and there are many challenges to homeschooling.

I am homeschooled since 15. And because i went to school before that, i found homeschooling a really bad experience. I didn't have friends when i homeschooled, yes, social, i needed so much social that i got really depressed and turned to suicide attempts. But now i am 17 and i think homeschooling is definitely better than normal schools. I think i learned much more and is more self-disciplined when it comes to studying. And i got a part-time job and that didn't affect my studying hours. Besides, i don't have to follow a routine (I can never follow a routine). But of course, i wish sometimes i could have all the high school drama.

Most studies show that home-schooling helps kids academically (and does not stunt them socially) until the 8th grade, as long as the student is actively involved in extra-curriculars in the community. Studies show that after the 8th grade (high school), people that are home-schooled usually lag both academically and socially. So, if you think home-schooling is for you, make sure your parents are certified and willing to put in the time. If you don't think your parent will be a good teacher or willing to pursue it 100%, don't even think about it. This is your schooling, remember, and could affect you going to college or getting a job after you graduate (it could even affect the time it takes for you to graduate).

There is nothing wrong with homeschooling except that you will lack the social interaction with others your own age, which is required as you grow up. Nevertheless, experts do not recommend that you home school during your high school years.

Nearly every major university requires high school transcripts when you enroll. Homeschooling does not provide that. Universities will not accept homeschooling, so you may have to complete a "GED" after completing homeschool.

No, home schooled kids always seem a little weird they lack the social skills that most public school children learn. You will probably end up being more book smart but lack the important inter social skills necessary to interact with other people in your adult life.

Well, I believe that going to a high school is a really great time in your life, but you just have to make it that way. Going to high school lets you learn how to deal with people and you grow up in a way that you never could by being home-schooled. Besides, how could you have a class moto, song, and colors (and the ring and reunion) without going to high school? ;) Good luck deciding!

Nope, students who are home schooled often lack the social skills of students who attend public or private schools. Making friends and meeting new people are imortant factors too.

You better ask mom if she is up to it. For the most part, colleges are looking more favorably on home schooled kids.
