Lol ~ good answers!
I don't mean purposely leaving the zipper down, but when you let someone know that theirs in down they blush and act mortified and turn around to zip it up.

i agree, but the reason is mostly that an open zipper is symbolic.
esp for girls its no big deal, for boys...it might depend on what kinda undies they are wearing...

If the person with the down zipper doesn't have undies on, you may see a big deal.

The reason most people are embarrassed when caught having their zipper undone is the thought that our underwear is exposed. Even though in today's world, while some people flash their tops and bottoms more frequently in public, their are still most of us that feel that this is disrespectful and degrading. Our society beliefs still feel that having your zipper down is inappropriate. Since inappropriate, we blush. Oops.

To yourself, it is not a big deal, I agree. To others it is because people often take stock of us based on the care we are seen to take of ourselves. You certainly wouldn't want your zipper down during a job interview, would you? It implies that you don't pay enough attention or just don't care about your appearance, and that attitude may carry over to other areas of your life.

I agree. It reminds me of something that happened to me once.
I had just graduated from basic training. I was so happy, I bought a case of beer. Walking down the street with the beer in my arms, someone told me my zipper was down. I put the case down and to my horror, it wasn't just down but part of my anatomy was hanging out. I was so drunk I didn't even notice. I'm just glad the MPs or a drill sergeant didn't see me. I would have been toast.

they like to come out and explore the world and believe me they are sneaky the'll come out and you wouldnt even know!!
so we dont give'em a chance gotta keep the zipper down all the time lol

Forgetting to zip your pants can send a message that is negative. It can give others the impression you are a "dirty old man" or that you are totally stupid. I'd rather not have either title, so i keep my pants zipped.

It's like farting. It's a joke since we were all kids. Even though it does happen to everyone!! hahaha I still get a good laugh out of it :)

It is embarrassing because it affirms that you do indeed need to evacuate waste from your body like an animal. It also indicates you are sloppy.
