Australia has fought beside the US in every war since 1914.

We were one of only 3 countries (US, UK, Aus) to help you invade Iraq (we sent soldiers, special forces, chinook helos, FA-18 hornets, frigates, an Amphib ship, a navy combat clearence diving team, seahawks, seakings, orion patrol aircraft, tanker aircraft, and hercules transport aircraft).

We were in WW1 from day 1 (unlike the US)
We were in WW2 from day 1 (unlike the US)
We were in Korea
We were in Vietnam
We were in Gulf War
We are in Afghanistan (one of the original 4 nations, from day 1)
We are in Iraq (from day 1) (and we are now in charge of allied naval forces, northern persian gulf)

On top of those endeavours we support UN peacekeeping around the world, as well as our own peacekeeping (timor 99, timor 05, solomons 03).

Australia always does it's part, is the first to commit, and does a damn fine job.

Do some research before you make stupid comments like that.

They have been in Iraq since March 2003. They are some of the best most respected allies we have. There were about 1400 Australian military servicemen and women serving in the Middle East as of March 2006.
They also faught in the vietnam war. Plus every other war the U.S. has faught in.

Because this isn't a time of war....its a time of America invading countries to further their own personal agendas.

The USA are complete hypocrites they feel that they should be the only ones who are allowed to develop deadly weapons. They didn't go to Iraq to find WMD, otherwise they would be invading North Korea as we speak.

The USA should take note of more advanced nations like Switzerland, Canada, and Sweden and not get involved in things that don't affect them, and they in return wouldn't have half the planet wanting to blow the bloody hell out of them.

UPDATE - I have just read other answers and found at least 2 people of being dense.

Are you mad?

The Australians and New Zealanders (Anzacs) were some of the bravest members of the British armed forces in both world wars and fought with distinction in every campaign.

The aussies also fought in Malaya and Borneo in support of the Brits, and in Vietnam in support of the Americans, not to mention Korea as part of the U.N forces.

Australian Special Forces are currently in Iraq and took part in both gulf wars, and are also active in Afghanistan.

In addition they are performing peace keeping duties in East Timor.

But there again I think you know all of that and are just trying to upset people, as no-body could be so dense as to not know surely!!

UPDATE - I have just read some of the answers and it appears that there are at least two people that dense..........

Throughout history Australia has fought in many major wars and besides England has been one of our best allies. They have been involved in the Iraq war and rebuilding. You may not hear much about it because their numbers are small. Their country has a small population by comparison and as such, they have a very small military.

Australia sends troops to any war Britian sends stroops to fight. Even though they are a free and independent country, they are staunch allies and supporters. They have fought every war, right beside troops from the USA, in the 20th and 21st Centuries.

Australia and New Zealand were part of the Allies during WWI and WWII. Some of their pilots also flew aircraft for the RAF. In the Pacific theater of WWII the Australians fought the Japanese.

because they have the good sense to keep their noses out of everyone else's business and run their own country. So does Switzerland. If more countries did this we'd have a far better world. Hats off to Australia! (and Switzerland).
