I was playing the cd and I pushed 'band' to go back to radio and then the screen said "locked" and nothing responded. So I pulled over and started the car again and everything worked fine, except I couldn't play the cd that was in the player.

Well there's a couple options. One would be to pull out the CD player and remove the power cable, wait a minute, then plug it back in. That'll wipe out whatever memory settings may be hosed up in there. Failing that, it's possible the sensor that detects a CD is gummed up. Open up the CD player itself and clean everything out with a damp lint-free cloth, then use an air duster to blast free whatever the cloth misses.

If all that fails...have it serviced by a professional.

Im assuming you have warranty remaining on an 06 vehicle. So take it back to the place you bought it from or to the nearest Chevy dealership and I bet your CD Player is under warranty.

You can fix it by trading in your chevy malibu for a 06 honda.

Hondas suck. Just take it in to the dealership where you bought it and have it fixed free of charge. Make sure that you have your warranty paperwork or whatever you need to show that it is still under warranty.
