Partiton magic sounds like the program you are looking for but i don't know if it can do what you want it to do. You already have data on the second partiton so there might be the added risk that you could loose the data on the second partiton.

partiton magic (sadly i know of no free software that works well, here a trial)
www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic

There is away to partiton drive from Windows XP/2000 recovery console but don't ask me how.

Alternativly if you really hard up for space, and partiton magic does not work, try some of the following

Move my documetys to the other partiton (if you haven't already)
if are using windows XP right click my documents and select properties and then MOVE. Select a location on the D drive.

In my computer click on the drive and select properties. and then click the disk clean up button( i'll bet you knew that already).

Last but not least, create another partion using some of the free space on your big drive, then format it from administrative tools > disk management and select to mount it as a folder on your C drive.

You need a program that allows you to resize partitions without losing the data on them first. there won't be many free ones that will do that. But if you are willing to format the computer you will have many programs to chose from, or you could do it throught Windows, or whatever OS you use.

so how many partitions do you have...
im taking it you installed linux repartioned your harddrive and made C: small and another partion bigger and on your C: its running out of room...the best thing and easiest is to wipe the whole harddrive and fresh install windows xp otherwise you have to get a disk partion mangr. like partition magic from symtec

Delete all your temp files and caches. Decrease the paging size and then try, should give u more space.
Try defragging ur harddrive to create continuous clusters of data - speeds up access

You cannot resize harddrives. You can install a new hard drive with more space.
