Yes. Every since the attack people are buying more flags, shirts, bumper stickers, name it and it's got a flag and God bless America on it. I can't stand it. I've always loved my country and supported our troops not just after we went to war or were attacked. They remind me of fair weather fans in sports. Only really being a fan when a teams winning or a teams popularity rises.

To an extent yeah. It's cool to see more people acknowledging, but has the flavor of a fad, or feigned patriotism. Being "in" is fickle reason to assume a stance for something. Just try not to discount too quickly. Many may have a genuine change of heart, and see things differently than before.
Take Pat Tillman. He was an pro-football player with the NFL. After 911 he gave up a career that would have made him a millionaire to join the Army. That alone is incredible, but he also became a paratrooper, then attended, and completed Ranger school. Being fit is a help, but only a tiny part of what's needed to finish. His military accomplishments could not have been achieved except with an honest strenuous committment. After 911, he gave up literally fame and fortune. Joined up and proved his ideals through some of the toughest training in the Army.
(Leave aside the manner of his death, it's not principle we're talkin about) He's the example of a true patriot.

Troups? As in musicians or actors? Come on!
Patriotic after the attack? No... everyone hated their country before 'the' attack. Sheesh.

unfortunately how often do you see shirts in your local stores that say support your troops and things like that unless there is a war? unless you have access to an AFFES (military store) you don't see those patriotic things unless there is a war. As far as the flag goes, you have a point there, but if you ever get a chance to visit a military base there are flags on houses everywhere (war or not).
